Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Position Description:

Habitat for Humanity NYC and Westchester County is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support the Marketing & Communications team across a wide range of graphic design, communications, administrative and events functions. The Coordinator will report to the Sr. Director, Marketing & Communications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with skills in marketing, communications and design. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, is organized and detail-oriented, and excited about the prospect of significantly growing awareness of the organization. Basic graphic design skills are essential.

  • Use Adobe Creative Suite software to create design assets and marketing collateral (print and digital)
  • Make updates and changes to website using WordPress
  • Manage production process for collateral, signage, promotional items and staff apparel
  • Create PowerPoint decks from existing templates; design new brand-aligned templates as needed.
  • Manage visual assets – coordinate video shoots and photoshoots, and photography library
  • Conduct live social media coverage at events and edit content/footage as necessary
  • Help to ensure brand standards are met and maintained across the organization
  • Manage external creative vendors as needed


  • Assist with planning and implementing a social media marketing plan
  • Manage social media content strategy and posting. Assist in the development and execution of social media campaigns.
  • Assist in maintenance of editorial calendar for all external communications
  • Build and proofread organizational emails
  • Assist with interdepartmental collection of storytelling elements for external and internal communications


  • Administrative tasks in support of Marketing & Communications team


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant experience. Ideal candidate has experience in social media and design.
  • Basic graphic design skills; knowledge of photography/videography a plus.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills: ability to articulate Habitat NYC and Westchester’s mission, program objectives, and resource needs
  • Excellent organizational skills: ability to manage complex projects from creation to completion, plan and prioritize multiple projects, and coordinate to meet deadlines
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills: ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments
  • Demonstrated tact, integrity, emotional intelligence and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and approach problems creatively

Technical Skills Required:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of front-end web development, including WordPress
  • NetCommunity or similar email marketing tool
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics a plus

Location, Salary, Hours: 

This position is a hybrid in-person and work-from-home model in order to better build cross-divisional strengths with team members across the organization and externally, with partner organizations, tenants and tenant groups.

The office is located at 111 John St. FL 7 Suite 770, New York, NY 10038.

Regular hours will be weekdays Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm EST, with an hour allotted for lunch each day. Flexibility is required as some site visits to project locations throughout the 5 boroughs will be necessary. Depending on project needs and event schedule, evenings and weekends may be required. Salary range for this role is $45,000 – $55,000.
