Real Estate and Construction Jr. Construction Manager

Position Description:

The Junior Construction Manager will be responsible for the day to day operations and construction observation/coordination of the on-going sites and will report to the Sr. Director of Construction and Construction Preservation. In conjunction with the Construction Coordinator and appropriate program directors, the Jr. CM will ensure that all programmatic site requirements are met and monitored.

Responsibilities: 
  • Keep daily logs of personnel entering the site and obtain proof of OSHA Cards 
  • Keep Covid -19 daily logs 
  • Monitor construction progress and provide weekly photographic progress reports; quality control and asset management are essential 
  • Maintain and coordinate subcontractor schedules 
  • Maintain site and make sure everyone is following site safety protocols 
  • Maintain all required permits 
  • Conduct inspections with appropriate agencies 
  • Maintain project schedule 
  • Maintain project manual and cuts of all installed items 
  • Keep a log of field revisions and approved change orders
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 5 years on site observation and project management 
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of residential construction and rehabilitation and retrofit endeavors
  • Must have a basic understanding of MEP systems 
  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Physical Engineering preferred 
  • Experience in successfully completed projects demonstrating timely completion 
  • An architectural or PE license would be beneficial 
  • A driver’s license, OSHA 40 and SST cards are required
Skills required: 
  • Demonstrates knowledge in all aspects of residential construction 
  • Proficiency with MS word, Excel, and Procore Project Management required 
  • Understanding project tracking and being able to multi-task. 
  • Ability to manage conflict resolution 
  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills required 
  • Customer service experience preferred
Location, Hours:

In the near term, this position is currently being offered as 100% remote. Eventually we intend to re-engage our New York City office with a hybrid in-person and work-from-home model in order to better-build cross divisional strengths with team members.

Safety is our number one priority and our office is currently retrofitted with COVID-19 safety measures. Masks and other safety equipment will be supplied to all Habitat NYC and Westchester staff upon our return.

The office is located at 111 John St. FL 23, New York, NY 10038.

Tuesday-Saturday, 9am – 5pm EST, with the possibility of a few evenings. Mondays may be required and schedules adjusted accordingly.
