Senior Flagship Store Manager

Reports To: V.P. of ReStore Operations

Position Type: This is a new full-time position.

Position Description:

Reporting to V.P. of ReStore, the ReStore Manager provides retail leadership that drives revenue to the organization and delivers best in class service and training. The Manager supervises and mentors the department’s paid and unpaid staff. Brings in best practices in retail management and health and safety in addition to having a solid understanding of business management for growth in a retail environment. Reaches yearly sales goal for ReStore, maintains a 5 star rating in service. Assist VP in finding a profitable Store location in Westchester.



ReStore Marketing

  • Collaborates with the organization’s Marketing and Communications team to promote the ReStore operations as:
    • The charity of choice to donate new and used building materials.
    • The destination to purchase gently used furniture and renovation materials.
    • The favorite Top Thrift store in community to shop.

ReStore Procurement

  • Establishes a network of manufacturers, distributors and large box stores in Westchester County for the purpose of securing donated new and end of line home furnishing, appliances, and construction materials for sale.
  • Develops relationships with home building contractors, renovators and homeowners in order to secure more donated renovation materials from private residences.
  • Collaborates in assisting screening of donation emails for WC.
  • Procures 4 new business donations every Quarter.

ReStore & Salvage Management

  • Trains and works side by side with the store team to ensure store layout(s) maximize revenue potential (Sales per square foot maximization and priority of product space.)
  • Tracks and coaches the ReStore team to achieve sales targets daily.
  • Reports as required including analysis and commentary on the results.
  • Develops ReStore and Salvage policies and procedures for approval as required (Compliance).
  • Develops Monthly floor plans and resets floor before or after store opening with team.


 Meets 1 on 1 with VP weekly on Service, Sales, and Operations

  • Completes all operational evaluations, refinements and ensures constant improvements in efficiencies and OKR’s Quarterly.
  • Ensures complete customer experience excellence.
  • Conducts regular safety audits and in-store inspections.
  • Handles customer referrals and complaints.
  • Develops yearly budget based on sales forecasts and reports periodically together with V.P. of ReStore Operations.
  • Ensures that stores achieve and maintain budgeted sales targets, salary costs, facility upgrades and the control of operational expenses.
  • Establishes and ensures the adherence to pricing and sales policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates volunteer training and establishes relationships.
  • Recruits volunteers from senior communities and foster permanent volunteers.
  • Processes Payroll for WC stores and meets payroll budgets.

Staff Training/Onboarding

  • Trains new staff for Westchester and assists with all onboarding of entire team together with PEO, Prestige.
  • Completes HR Certification to better understand State and Federal policy and procedures.
  • Attends Restore University.


  • Schedules volunteers shifts Westchester.
  • Ensures proper waivers are signed for and Westchester.
  • Tracks volunteer hours for both Westchester.
  • Identifies and fosters growth of certain volunteers for larger roles.
  • Develops a senior community of daily committed volunteers to represent 30-50% of volunteer staff.
  • Develop internship program with local colleges, technical school, and colleges.

 Additional Skills/Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • AS per NYC regulation, must show proof of vaccination for Covid; however, Habitat may  consider reasonable accommodations for disability- and religious-based reasons
  • Superior leadership skills demonstrated by a minimum 5-7 years in a high volume 1 million plus (ideally multi-location) retail management role
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and lead volunteers
  • Excellent relationship building skills with a track record of leading to sales success
  • A strong understanding and familiarity with construction materials including valuations is an asset
  • Familiarity with databases.
  • Microsoft Office proficient.
  • Passion and understanding of the Habitat for Humanity mission and the desire to promote it!
