The Global Village Volunteer Program is BACK!!!
We are seeking passionate and curious NYC and Westchester volunteers to join us in our mission to transform lives both locally and abroad.
Habitat NYC and Westchester is proud to restart our Global Village builds partnership with Habitat El Salvador. The need in this country continues to be great with 1.3 million families living in inadequate conditions – 8 out of 10 Salvadorans.
November 9-16, 2024
Day 1: Arrival Day 2: Meet the community Days 3–6: Build Day 7: Finish and farewell Day 8: Depart Come prepared for a full week of physical labor and a willingness to learn and interact with community members whose community you’re helping to improve. This trip is a unique opportunity to experience life inside the culture all alongside a team of open-minded volunteers. No experience is required! This trip will provide you the opportunity to immerse yourself in local Salvadoran culture by working directly with families to build homes – but also taking time to get to know the people, learn about Salvadoran history, and enjoy local cuisine… all in one week! Your participation in one of these trips helps support Habitat’s ongoing homebuilding efforts. While your personal trip may last for a week, your financial, emotional and physical contributions can be life-changing for both those in the communities where you work and in your own life for years to come.
