AUGUST 21, 2015 - Karen Haycox was named chief executive. Ms. Haycox previously served as vice president for fund development at Southwest Solutions, which provides social services and housing in Detroit. She also worked at Habitat for Humanity International in Atlanta, where her projects included disaster relief following Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, and Hurricane Sandy.

NOVEMBER 5, 2014 - Congratulations are in order thanks to the tireless work of non-profit Habitat for Humanity. On October 29th, HFH finished repairs on a Coney Island residence damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Although all of the organization’s projects are significant, this one was especially meaningful as it marked the 100th home repair since the deadly storm wreaked havoc in the area.
