Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2026 Habitat Golf Outing: Home is the Key—a memorable day at Scarsdale Golf Club that brought together partners, supporters, and advocates committed to expanding access to affordable homeownership across New York City and Westchester County.
From the course to the evening program, the day was grounded in a shared purpose: advancing solutions to one of the most urgent challenges facing our region—housing. During the evening program, we heard from an inspiring group of leaders, including Westchester County Executive Kenneth W. Jenkins, Habitat NYC and Westchester CEO Sabrina Lippman, Adrienne Goolsby, Senior Vice President of Habitat for Humanity International, and Tim Foley, CEO of the Building and Realty Institute of Westchester and the Mid-Hudson Region. Together, they spoke to both the scale of today’s housing crisis and the growing momentum behind solutions.
In his keynote remarks, County Executive Jenkins delivered a powerful reminder of what’s at stake, saying, “When housing is unaffordable, employers struggle to attract workers. Young adults struggle to stay near the communities where they grew up. Seniors struggle to age in place. Families struggle to save. And too many people spend more time worrying about rent than planning their future.”
He highlighted how housing affordability impacts every corner of our communities—from whether families can stay rooted where they live, to whether employers can attract workers, to whether individuals can plan for the future with stability and confidence.
Tim Foley spoke candidly about Westchester’s housing landscape, acknowledging the longstanding challenges that have limited housing supply and driven up costs. At the same time, he pointed to a meaningful shift underway—one where communities, organizations, and leaders are increasingly coming together to say “yes” to housing and work collaboratively toward real solutions.
At Habitat NYC and Westchester, that work is already in motion. As Sabrina shared, our organization is building and preserving homes at an unprecedented scale—while also advocating for the policy changes needed to expand access to affordable homeownership. From developing new housing to helping families remain in the homes they love, Habitat continues to bring people together to create lasting impact.
This event is part of Habitat for Humanity International’s Home is the Key campaign—an annual nationwide initiative that shines a light on the need for affordable housing and calls on all of us to be part of the solution. Through Home is the Key, we are not only raising awareness—we are building, preserving, and advocating for pathways that help unlock opportunity for families.
As Adrienne Goolsby shared, a safe, stable home is the foundation for everything else in life—yet too many families remain locked out. Initiatives like Home is the Key help change that by bringing together the people and resources needed to move this work forward.
We are grateful to our sponsors and supporters who made this day possible, including our Platinum Sponsor, The Morse Foundation, Habitat for Humanity International sponsors Lowe’s and Colgate-Palmolive, and all of the partners, golfers, and advocates who joined us. Your support helps power Habitat’s work across NYC and Westchester—building homes, preserving communities, and advocating for solutions that create lasting change.
Thank you for being part of this incredible day—and for helping us continue to open the door to opportunity.
