NEW YORK (June 24, 2024) Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County is pleased to announce the appointment of Sabrina Lippman as our new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2024. A distinguished real estate executive and fundraising professional, Sabrina brings over 15 years of experience building strategic alliances that strengthen communities and maximize assets.

In a joint statement, Habitat NYC and Westchester Board Chair Anthony Montalto and Interim Co-CEOs Matthew Dunbar and Christopher Illum said, “We are thrilled to welcome Sabrina back to Habitat in her new leadership role as we collectively strive to advance our critical work in the region together. Her passion, commitment, and experience will take our shared mission to the next level. Sabrina was a joy to work with during her previous role leading our Resource Development team, and we are additionally excited for the experience she brings back to Habitat from her impactful work at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. We are delighted to partner with her again as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary and chart the course for another 40 years of impact.”

In her most recent role as Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), Sabrina oversaw a diverse 64-million-square-foot real estate portfolio. She successfully managed a $300 million annual revenue program and secured $375 million in public subsidies for significant redevelopment projects.

Prior to her tenure at NYCEDC, Sabrina significantly enhanced Habitat for Humanity New York City’s fundraising capacity as Vice President of Resource Development, cultivating high-impact philanthropic partnerships and contributing to the growth and visibility of Habitat’s mission. Sabrina’s career also includes prominent leadership positions at top commercial real estate firms such as Westfield, Cushman & Wakefield, and SIMON Property Group. She has been recognized with numerous awards, including Crain’s New York 40 Under 40, Professional Women in Construction’s Top 20 Under 40, El Diario’s Mujeres Destacadas Award, and being named the Queens honoree of the 2019 Dominican Day Parade.

A native New Yorker and proud Latina, Sabrina holds a Commercial Real Estate Certificate from Cornell University, a Management Certificate in Marketing from Simon Business School, and a BA in Economics from the University of Rochester. She is a dedicated wife and mother who remains committed to giving back to her community and empowering others.

Sabrina succeeds Karen Haycox, who stepped down at the end of March after nearly a decade of dedicated leadership. With her proven track record of strategic leadership and community development, Sabrina Lippman is poised to lead Habitat NYC and Westchester towards a future of sustainable growth and enhanced community impact.
