The Mosaic Project is a scattered-site development consisting of 42 affordable cooperative housing units located in Central Brooklyn.
The project is named Mosaic after the art form of creating a complete image from individual pieces—we believe that together, these small buildings form a beautiful whole.
The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) awarded Habitat NYC and Westchester the New Infill Housing Opportunity Program (NIHOP) RFQ in August 2017. The project includes 13 lots that will be developed as part of the Mosaic initiative.
These currently vacant lots will be built from the ground up, creating new homeownership opportunities for 42 working-class New York City families.
