Habitat NYC and Westchester is a general contractor that offers existing resident-owned affordable buildings (like HDFC co-ops) high quality construction services at a fair price. Habitat NYC and Westchester’s Housing Preservation Program also offers these clients many pro bono construction services, including needs assessments, letter of recommendation, and scopes of work.

Technical Assistance for HDFCs

Habitat NYC and Westchester offers Technical Assistance to the Boards of existing affordable housing multifamily properties. The assistance stabilizes building operations and potentially allows a Board to access funding sources available to pay for repairs or other needs and/or navigate internal governance, budgeting or other issues.

Technical Assistance for TIL/ANCP Buildings

Together with our partner Urban Homesteading Assistance Board (UHAB), we also provide free technical assistance services to all Tenant Interim Lease Buildings. For more information, click here. For residents of TIL and ANCP buildings, send an email to TILANCPhelp@habitatnycwc.org or call 646.779.8890.

Financial Lending

The Habitat NYC Community Fund has the capacity to provide low interest loans to existing HDFCs and other non-profit affordable housing developers. The Community Fund has a variety of products to meet the specific needs of clients, including refinancing predatory debt, paying off municipal arrears, or financing repairs.
