NEW YORK, NY (April 15, 2025) – It is with mixed emotions that we announce the upcoming closure of our Habitat NYC and Westchester ReStore in Woodside, Queens. Our last day of business will be Saturday, May 24.
Since opening in 2015, the community’s patronage and support have been the cornerstone of our continuation. Despite the significant disruptions in the retail industry in recent years, our loyal customers, donors, and partners have been instrumental in our success. Thanks to you:
- Our small but mighty ReStore in Queens has been one of the top performing ReStores in the country—making significant contributions to fueling Habitat’s mission—a remarkable achievement given our relatively small footprint.
- By the close of business, the ReStore in Queens will have diverted over 3,300 tons of waste from the landfill.
It has been an honor to assist in furnishing your homes for you and your loved ones—from the sofa where you take those good naps, to the dining table that hosts your family gatherings, and the cherished artwork that brightens your mornings. Meeting and growing with our community has been a privilege.
“While it is always difficult to close a chapter, we are immensely proud of the impact our ReStore has had in our community. Over the past decade, we’ve formed deeply meaningful connections and partnerships that have bolstered our mission. The support from our customers, donors, and partners has been exceptional, and we are excited to continue building on this foundation to advance Habitat’s work through our Yonkers location and online,” said Sabrina Lippman, CEO, Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County.
We invite you to visit our flagship Yonkers store at 470 Nepperhan Ave, Yonkers, NY 10701. It offers 8,400 square feet of beautiful pieces at the ReStore prices you know and love. Additionally, you can continue thrifting online 24/7 at habitatnycwc.org/restore.
Your continued support through donations is vital. We are still collecting items from all across the five boroughs and Westchester County to stock our Yonkers store.
Join us in the coming weeks for our farewell sales, give your best wishes to the Queens team, and find your best bargains yet!
With gratitude,
Habitat NYC and Westchester ReStore team
