Time for the Students to become the Teachers!
Volunteers on our construction sites are often daunted by the task ahead of them. Construction? Sounds scary!
We know that you know that volunteering with Habitat NYC is easy, safe and above all, fun. That’s why we’re depending on you to spread the word about volunteering at Habitat NYC.
Get together with your friends and create a high-energy video no longer than two minutes showing volunteers what they need to know before coming on site – it can be funny or dramatic, but it needs to be informative.
Be sure to include the basics about volunteering with Habitat NYC:
- How to sign up (on VolunteerHub)
- When to arrive on site (9am, generally)
- What to bring to site (lunch, water and a big ol’ smile)
- What to wear (long pants, steel toed boots (sneakers are okay for BWK and the ReStore) and a big ol’ smile)
Our Marketing and Communications team will select a winner, whose video will be featured on our social media and website! (Runners up will be featured on our social media channels.) The winners will also get a lunch with the Habitat NYC Marketing and Communications team.
So get creative! Show us your acting chops! But above all, show perspective volunteers to Habitat NYC everything they need to know to have a great day building affordable housing for our fellow New Yorkers.
