Volunteering on our construction sites can be hard work, but the rewards are well worth the effort. You’ll have the chance to transform lives and communities by building safe, decent and affordable homes for New Yorkers in need.
No experience necessary! Come build side by side with our family partners and site leaders on any of the phases of home rehabilitation. Swing a hammer, use power tools, haul dirt – no matter what you are doing on our sites, you are doing your part to build a better city for everyone.
Work can include demolition of the house to its structural shell, digging for piping, installing slab, framing and other carpentry, sheetrock, flooring, or painting. Whatever you do, you will learn a little about construction, revitalize a neighborhood, and give families a chance at a better future in a new Habitat home.
Must be 16 years or older to volunteer on a construction site.
Must be 18 years or older to volunteer on a demolition site (opportunities will be noted in event details).
